Economic Support Program
Businesses within the corporate limits of Polo can apply for an economic support grant for funds up to $5,000.  

These grant funds can be used for mortgage or rent payments, as well as utilities including electric, gas, phone, internet, water and garbage, and any expenses outside of normal operating costs that were incurred due to restrictions placed on the business due to the COVID-19 public health emergency will be eligible for reimbursement.  
Examples of expenses outside of normal operating costs are:
Personal protective equipment for employees or customers
Deep cleaning services
Outdoor heaters
Renting tents for outdoor services
Plexiglass panels
Disinfectant spray cleaning machines
Contactless faucets, soap dispensers, hand sanitizers, door pulls, toilets

Applicant Eligibility
Business must have been forced to close normal business operations per the Phase 4 Guidelines (or the applicable guidelines under Governor Pritzker's Restore Illinois Plan) or current Resurgence Mitigations.
Business applicants are required to be located within the City of Polo corporate limits.  
Applicants must be located within a brick-and-mortar location in the City of Polo.  
The business must be currently open or planning to reopen by December 31, 2020. 
Business must be legally capable of entering into a binding contract. A grant agreement will be required that will obligate the business to repay the grant if program rules are not followed.  
Must NOT have received other funding from the Business Interruption Grant (BIG).  
Applicant must not be delinquent on their State of Illinois taxes. Proof of filing is required with your application.
Applicants will be required to submit a completed application, a signed W-9, proof of most recent State of Illinois taxes being filed, and receipts/bills of eligible expenses. Bills must have service dates between 3/1/2020 – 12/30/2020. Businesses must state that they have not received any funding to date through the State of Illinois Business Interruption Grant (BIG) Program. The grant review committee with review the applicants and compare them against DCEO's BIG grant recipients list. The Grant review committee will check www.sam.gov for excluded parties.

Completed grants will be awarded on a first-come basis until the grant funds are gone.  The City of Polo has $46,922.00 allotted for this program.
