​The City of Polo is currently hiring for:

Police Officer

The Polo Police Department is accepting applications for a full-time police officer.  
Application acceptance dates are: January 07, 2022 - January 21, 2022.  
Candidates that are currently certified as a law enforcement officer by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board are also strongly encouraged to apply.  
Qualified applicants must meet the following minimum standards:
Minimum of 21 years of age.
High school diploma or successful completion of GED.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must be able to successfully complete a criminal background investigation.
Must be able to pass the P.O.W.E.R test requirements.
Must have or be able to obtain a valid FOID card.

Applications and P.O.W.E.R test requirements may be obtained at the Polo City Clerk's Office, 115 S. Franklin Avenue, Polo.

Pool Manager

The deadline for applications is Friday, February 4th.

Polo Municipal Pool Manager
BA degree in recreation, sports management or closely related field
Minimum 21 years old
Hold a valid driver’s license
Certifications (prefer to be current at the time of hire)
oCPR/AED/First Aid
oOxygen Instructor
oSwim Lesson Instructor
oLifeguard Management
oCertified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (FAO)
oBloodborne Pathogens
oChild Abuse Prevention
Prefer minimum experience of 3 years in the aquatics field (previous lifeguarding experience preferred)
Accountable for being at the facility during working hours & on-time for scheduled shift
Have a flexible work schedule (including working mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays)
Work 40 hours per week (any overtime must be approved by the Alderman of Parks)
Be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods
Must be able to lift minimum 75 pounds
Be able to pass a physical
Ability to coordinate, analyze & utilize a variety of reports & records
Willing to learn new skills & knowledge
Demonstrate decision making, conflict resolution, negotiation & organizational skills
Effectively interact with patrons, parents & staff
Be enthusiastic, fun and have a great personality. Display maturity, along with good leadership & communication skills
